Job Brief
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Loan Assessor to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in consumer credit, particularly in Small Amount Credit Contracts (SACC) and Medium Amount Credit Contracts (MACC). Reporting to the General Manager, you will be responsible for reviewing and assessing loan applications, ensuring compliance with responsible-lending standards, and delivering a high-quality customer experience.
You will liaise directly with applicants to verify financial information and documentation, ensuring each decision is made with care, compliance, and attention to detail. This role is crucial to the success of the business and offers the opportunity to grow with a dynamic and fast-paced team.
Responsibilities:
Review and assess consumer-loan applications (SACC & MACC) within policy and regulatory guidelines
Analyse financial documents, including bank statements and credit reports, to assess affordability
Conduct income, expense, and ID verifications via phone or digital channels
Apply sound judgement to credit decisions and prepare recommendations for approval
Maintain clear, accurate records in the loan-management system
Communicate empathetically and professionally with customers
Ensure all assessments meet internal quality standards and NCCP compliance
Requirements:
Prior experience assessing consumer-credit or payday-loan applications (SACC/MACC)
Strong understanding of responsible-lending principles and NCCP obligations
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
Comfortable using digital systems and loan-assessment software
Proven ability to manage workload efficiently in a high-volume environment
Team-oriented with a positive, proactive attitude
Software Proficiency:
Experience with loan-management or credit-assessment platforms
General proficiency with digital tools and CRM systems

Time Zone: Australian Business Hours
