Job Summary:

In a supermarket, an Area Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a specific section or area within the store, ensuring it runs smoothly and efficiently. This includes managing staff, maintaining product availability, controlling inventory, and ensuring a positive customer experience. They may need to communicate and coordinate with Supermarket Managers and his/her subordinates to ensure smooth operations and efficient workflow.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Acts as the Branch Trainer for new employees, ensuring consistent on-boarding and skills development.
  • Mentors, coaches, and motivates team members to achieve performance targets and uphold company goals.
  • Evaluates the performance of subordinates and provides constructive feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Prepares work schedules and assignments for staff within the area.
  • Manages daily operations in the assigned selling area, ensuring compliance with company standards and policies.
  • Oversees the execution of merchandising guidelines, inventory activities, and adherence to display and signage standards.
  • Leads and enforces strict implementation of 'FEFO' (First Expiry, First Out) and 'FIFO' (First In, First Out) policies by consistent routine monitoring both the selling area and warehouse.
  • Actively collaborates with merchandise associates, merchandisers, and warehouse personnel to coordinate shelf stocking, ensure accurate product placement, and support the timely loading, unloading, and transfer of stocks between branches.
  • Delivers high-quality service to internal and external customers by resolving concerns and maintaining a welcoming shopping environment.
  • Ensures that customer needs are addressed promptly and courteously, including assistance at the counter area.
  • Reports daily operations, issues, and recommendations to the Assistant Supermarket Manager (ASMM) or Supermarket Manager (SMM).
  • Ensures proper documentation of reported stock issues, delivery discrepancies, and area concerns for appropriate action.
  • Promotes effective communication within the team to support smooth coordination of tasks and responsibilities.
  • Leads the verification of data integrity to support strategic and data-driven decisions in inventory control and ordering, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and alignment with operational goals.
  • Creates stock requests based on sales trends and inventory levels to support availability and minimize out-of-stocks in the absence of POO in Supermarket
  • Ensures strict implementation of the 'FEFO' (First Expiry, First Out) and 'FIFO' (First In, First Out) policies by consistently monitoring product rotation in both the selling area and warehouse.
  • Maintains orderliness and cleanliness within the area to uphold hygiene and safety standards.
  • Organizes and prioritizes tasks to meet store objectives efficiently.
  • Ensures timely and accurate checks of cigarette inventory in both the selling area and warehouse, ensuring full compliance with inventory control policies.
  • Proficient in navigating store operating systems (e.g., POS, inventory systems) for managing tasks such as stock monitoring and barcode printing.
  • Ensures proper implementation of operational processes in coordination with warehouse and merchandising teams.
  • Maintains full, clean, and visually appealing displays aligned with visual merchandising standards.
  • Ensures the accuracy of price tags, barcodes, detectors, and promotional materials.
  • Recommends layout improvements or space optimization ideas to ASMM/SMM based on product movement and customer behavior.
  • Manages operations during delayed deliveries or stock shortages.
  • Performs other tasks and assignments delegated by supervisors or store management.

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, Retail Operations, or related field (preferred)
  • At least 2-3 years of supervisory experience in retail or supermarket operations.
  • Skilled in staff training, coaching, and performance monitoring.
  • Knowledge of merchandising, inventory control, and FEFO/FIFO policies.
  • Proficient in POS and inventory systems.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Detail-oriented, with ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure.
  • Willing to work flexible hours, weekends, and holidays.
  • Physically fit and committed to hygiene and safety standards.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Php14, Php17,000.00 per month
