Mold Die Designer

We are seeking a skilled Mold Die Designer to develop mold and die design concepts that enhance production quality, increase capacity, and align customer specifications with business objectives at the lowest possible cost.

Job Responsibilities

• Create mold and die design based on a given product drawing to meet customer requirements on technical specifications and quality
• Determine appropriate material and standard parts to be used based on specifications and coordinate with purchasing to maintain inventories of all machine tools, supplies and raw materials needed.
• Analyze and verify dimension of product vs. mold/die and conduct simulation of dimensional tolerances to ensure that product specifications are met.
• Analyze mold and die design related issues, investigate root cause and make improvements to prevent recurrence of problems.
• Evaluate current mold and die condition and initiate improvements and verify its effectiveness to increase efficiency and quality
• Conduct Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (DFMEA) to determine potential failures and their causes
• Inspect existing mold and die and to ensure that all are adequately maintained and perform mold design modification/adjustments as necessary

Job Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (preferred).
• Knowledge of quality systems and methodologies such as 8D, Lean, 5 Why's, Pareto Analysis, Six Sigma, DFMEA, PFMEA, GR&R, etc.
• Proficiency in SOLIDWORKS and familiarity with CAD, measurement tools, and fabrication processes (milling, grinding, boring).
• Understanding of Pneumatics, PLC/PIC systems, and Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001).
• Skilled in Microsoft Office and database/document control systems.
• At least 1–2 years of relevant experience in mold and die design or a related engineering role.
