Job Title: MEPFS Engineer

Job Summary:

The MEPFS Engineer is responsible for the design review, coordination, installation, and inspection of all Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection, and Sanitary systems in construction projects. This role ensures that all MEPFS works are executed according to design specifications, project schedules, safety standards, and applicable codes. The engineer coordinates closely with architects, structural engineers, and other disciplines to ensure full system integration and functionality.

Key Responsibilities:1. Design and Technical Review

  • Review and interpret MEPFS design drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
  • Verify design compliance with project requirements, local codes, and industry standards.
  • Provide technical input and value engineering solutions to optimize system performance and cost.
  • Participate in design coordination meetings with consultants and clients.

2. Planning and Coordination

  • Develop detailed MEPFS work schedules aligned with overall project timelines.
  • Coordinate with architectural, structural, and civil teams to avoid design and construction clashes.
  • Conduct MEPFS coordination meetings with subcontractors and consultants.
  • Prepare coordination drawings (shop drawings) and assist in BIM model integration.

3. Construction Supervision

  • Oversee and inspect the installation of MEPFS systems to ensure compliance with design, quality, and safety requirements.
  • Monitor progress of MEPFS works and report deviations or delays.
  • Manage subcontractors and ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
  • Ensure proper testing, commissioning, and handover of MEPFS systems.

4. Quality, Safety, and Compliance

  • Ensure adherence to quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) procedures for MEPFS works.
  • Verify that all installations comply with local building codes, fire safety regulations, and environmental standards.
  • Enforce site safety measures related to MEPFS activities.

5. Documentation and Reporting

  • Prepare daily and weekly progress reports for MEPFS works.
  • Maintain records of approved materials, inspection requests (IRs), and test results.
  • Assist in preparing as-built drawings and operation & maintenance (O&M) manuals.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Sanitary, or Fire Protection Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Professional license (e.g., PRC License for engineers or equivalent) preferred.
  • Minimum 2–5 years of experience in MEPFS design and/or construction supervision.
  • Strong understanding of MEPFS systems, equipment, and installation techniques.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit/BIM, and relevant design/coordination software.
  • Knowledge of applicable codes and standards (e.g., NFPA, ASHRAE, NEC, IPC, local building codes).
  • Excellent coordination, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary project environment.
