JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for the maintenance and repair of radio equipment, as well as receiving and transmitting communication.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain programming logs as required by station management.
  • Control audio equipment in order to regulate the volume and sound quality during radio broadcast.
  • Monitor clarity and reliability of incoming and outgoing signals and adjust equipment as necessary to maintain quality broadcast.
  • Regulate the brightness and contrast of the transmission.
  • Observe monitors and converse with station personnel in order to determine audio levels and to ascertain that programs are airing.
  • Preview scheduled programs to ensure that signals are functioning and programs are ready for transmission.
  • Report equipment problems and ensure that repairs are made, make emergency repairs to equipment when necessary.
  • Record sound onto tape for radio program, checking its quality and making adjustments when necessary.
  • Align antennae with receiving dishes in order to obtain the clearest signal for transmission of broadcast from field locations.
  • Schedule programming logs in order to determine which programs are to be recorded or aired.
  • Edit broadcast materials for airing.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

  • Must be a graduate in electronic technology with associate degree in broadcast technology
  • have worked in radio and news broadcasting with hands-on training on all the radio equipments
  • Have tolerance for inconsistent work hours and off-hours repair calls.
