Job Overview:

The English Curriculum Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and refining English Language Arts (ELA) curricula for various grade levels. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of English language and literature, as well as a passion for education and curriculum innovation. This role involves collaboration with educators, instructional designers, and subject matter experts to create engaging and effective learning materials that align with educational standards and best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

Curriculum Design and Development:

  • Develop comprehensive English Language Arts curricula for K-12 or specific grade levels.
  • Ensure curricula align with state and national educational standards.
  • Incorporate diverse literary genres, texts, and multimedia resources.
  • Design lesson plans, assessments, and instructional materials.

Content Creation:

  • Write and edit content for textbooks, workbooks, and digital platforms.
  • Create engaging and interactive activities to enhance student learning.
  • Develop formative and summative assessments to measure student progress.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work closely with teachers, instructional designers, and other curriculum developers.
  • Gather feedback from educators and students to refine curriculum materials.
  • Provide professional development and training for teachers on new curriculum implementations.

Research and Analysis:

  • Stay updated on current trends, research, and best practices in ELA education.
  • Conduct needs assessments and analyze student performance data to inform curriculum revisions.
  • Evaluate and recommend educational resources and technology tools.

Project Management:

  • Manage multiple curriculum development projects simultaneously.
  • Ensure timely completion of curriculum materials within set deadlines.
  • Maintain organized documentation of curriculum development processes and revisions.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in English, Education, Curriculum Development, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in teaching English or developing ELA curricula. Experience with curriculum design and instructional material development. Familiarity with educational standards (e.g., Common Core, state-specific standards).

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of English language, literature, and grammar.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in using digital tools and educational technology.
  • Ability to create engaging and inclusive learning materials.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with online education and e-learning platforms.
  • Knowledge of differentiated instruction and inclusive education practices.
  • Familiarity with data analysis and educational assessment tools.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
