Job Description:

Work closely with developers, system administrators, and other IT staff to support database-related projects. Provide expertise and guidance on database design and best practices.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain database systems to ensure high availability and performance

  • Monitor database performance and implement necessary changes to optimize efficiency

  • Perform regular database backups and recovery procedures

  • Ensure data integrity and security across all database systems

  • Collaborate with development teams to support database-related needs and projects

  • Troubleshoot and resolve database issues promptly

  • Develop and maintain documentation for database operations and procedures

  • Implement and manage database security measures

  • Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations

  • Provide support for database-related issues and queries.

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field

  • Strong knowledge of SQL Server (versions 2016, 2017, 2019, 2022) and SQL Express

  • Experience with database performance tuning and optimization

  • In-depth knowledge of SQL Server database administration, including database design, installation, configuration, and maintenance

  • Familiarity with high availability and disaster recovery solutions, such as AlwaysOn availability groups and clustering

  • Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and functions

  • Good understanding of formal processes such as ITIL, Change Control, Issue Management etc, and be comfortable working to those processes.

  • Experience with cloud-based database solutions (e.g. Azure).

  • Preferred Certification in SQL Server or other relevant database technologies.
