We're Hiring: Senior Java/Backend Developer (Full Stack Experience a Plus)

Location: Cebu city, onsite for the first 6 months then transition to hybrid

Shift Schedule: Dayshift (10am-7pm)

Your Role

As a Senior Backend Developer, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise-level systems. From ideation and planning to coding, testing, deployment, and optimization—you'll be part of the full software development lifecycle. You'll collaborate closely with engineers, product owners, UX/UI designers, and business analysts to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions.

You'll also be a mentor to mid-level and junior developers, helping them sharpen their technical skills and adopt best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, write, and implement effective, secure, and maintainable software
  • Conduct quality assurance through unit, integration, UI, and performance testing (both automated and manual)
  • Perform database design and optimization (PostgreSQL)
  • Maintain and optimize build pipelines, infrastructure, and middleware
  • Apply software craftsmanship principles (clean code, peer review, pair programming)
  • Identify opportunities for refactoring, optimization, and improving synergy across systems
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to evaluate features, plan projects, and align with business needs
  • Manage operations and monitoring of delivered products
  • Provide 3rd level support when needed
  • Take on special responsibilities such as release management
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams (PO, developers, designers, analysts, stakeholders)
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the Manager

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong practical experience in relevant backend programming languages and frameworks
  • Proficiency in Java (Java SE 21) and Spring Boot (main requirements)
  • Experience with RabbitMQ, Kafka, PostgreSQL, Maven
  • Familiarity with tools like OpenShift, GitLab, Git, Confluence, Jira, IntelliJ IDEA
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong adherence to clean code principles
  • Hands-on experience with software development practices such as TDD, BDD, ATDD, and Pair Programming
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment
