Underwriting Specialist

What you'll be doing

1. Evaluate and assess insurance, loan applications to determine appropriate coverage and pricing
2. Analyze client risk profiles and underwriting data to make informed underwriting decisions
3. Collaborate with sales and claims teams to ensure efficient and effective underwriting processes
4. Stay up-to-date with industry regulations, trends and best practices to optimize underwriting processes
5. Continually seek opportunities to improve underwriting standards and procedures
6. Provide training and support to less experienced members of the underwriting team
7. Contribute to the development of underwriting policies, guidelines and tools

What we're looking for

1. at least 6 months to 1 year of experience in an underwriting role within the lending industry
2. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex risk profiles
3. In-depth knowledge of creditable/loaning products, underwriting principles and regulatory requirements
4. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills to liaise effectively with clients and colleagues
5. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and mentor more junior underwriters
6. Tertiary qualification in actuarial science, statistics, finance or a related field.
7. Willing to deploy in McKinley Hill Taguig and willing to start ASAP.
