Job Summary:

The Second Cook assists the Head Chef and First Cook in preparing, cooking, and presenting high-quality food in a timely manner. This role ensures that food safety, hygiene, and kitchen standards are strictly followed while maintaining efficiency in operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in food preparation, cooking, and plating according to company standards and recipes.
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and rotation of food items (FIFO).
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, equipment, and work areas at all times.
  • Support in checking ingredients, supplies, and stock levels needed for daily operations.
  • Follow strict food safety and sanitation guidelines (HACCP standards).
  • Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure smooth and efficient service.
  • Assist in training and guiding kitchen assistants, stewards, or trainees when required.
  • Handle kitchen tools and equipment safely and report any malfunctions immediately.
  • Uphold company values of luxury service, integrity, and innovation in food preparation.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the Head Chef or First Cook

Qualifications:

  • At least 1 year of experience as a kitchen staff, commis, or cook
  • Knowledge of basic cooking methods, kitchen operations, and food safety standards
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and time-management skills
  • Flexibility to work on shifting schedules, weekends, and holidays
  • TESDA NCII in Cookery (preferred but not required)

Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term
