The Butcher/Merchandiser is responsible for preparing, cutting, and displaying fresh meat products in designated supermarket meat stations under Golden Acres Food Service Corporation. The role combines hands-on meat processing with effective merchandising to attract customers, maximize sales, and ensure product quality, cleanliness, and compliance with food safety standards.

II. Duties and Responsibilities

Meat Processing and Operations

  1. Cut, trim, debone, and portion meat products according to required specifications.

  2. Operate meat processing tools and equipment (e.g., knives, grinders, saws) safely and correctly.

  3. Maintain proper storage and handling of meat to preserve quality and freshness.

  4. Ensure proper handling, storage, and labeling of meat products to maintain freshness and quality.

Minimize waste through accurate cutting and repurposing usable trimmings when applicable.

Merchandising and Display

  1. Set up and maintain attractive, organized meat displays at supermarket meat stations.

  2. Ensure proper labeling, pricing, and placement of meat products and promotional items.

  3. Rotate stock to ensure freshness and remove expired or discolored items from display.

  4. Align product presentation with marketing strategies and seasonal promotions.

Customer Service and Sales Support

  1. Assist customers in selecting appropriate meat cuts and provide recommendations.

  2. Weigh, package, and label meat accurately and efficiently.

  3. Maintain a friendly, professional attitude when serving customers.
