About the Role

The QA Automation Tester is responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality software solutions through the design, development, and execution of automated and manual tests. The role involves building scalable automation frameworks, integrating testing into CI/CD pipelines, and collaborating closely with cross-functional Agile teams to drive a culture of "automation-first" and continuous quality improvement.

Key Responsibilities

1. Automation Development & Maintenance

a. Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks to validate application functionality and performance.

b. Enhance automation coverage across various test suites including regression, smoke, and functional testing.

c. Integrate automated testing processes into the overall software delivery lifecycle.

d. Maintain and optimize existing automation assets to ensure efficiency, scalability, and reliability.

2. Manual & Exploratory Testing

a. Perform manual and exploratory testing for scenarios not suitable for automation.

b. Create, execute, and maintain comprehensive test cases and test data.

c. Participate in peer reviews of test cases and scripts to ensure adherence to testing standards and practices.

3. Collaboration & Quality Advocacy

a. Work closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to define testing strategies and acceptance criteria.

b. Advocate for automation-first and shift-left testing approaches to improve software quality early in the development cycle.

c. Participate actively in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.

4. Reporting & Documentation

a.  Document and maintain test plans, test cases, and test execution reports.

b. Identify, report, and track defects through established defect management processes.

c. Provide clear and timely updates on testing progress, risks, and issues to project stakeholders.

5. Continuous Improvement

a. Identify and recommend improvements to testing processes, methodologies, and practices.

b. Stay updated with industry standards, testing methodologies, and emerging trends in software quality assurance.

c. Contribute to knowledge-sharing and continuous improvement initiatives within the QA team.

Qualifications and Experience


• Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.


• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in software quality assurance, with at least 2 years in test automation.

  • Proven experience in developing and maintaining automated test frameworks.
  • Background in manual testing and test case design.
  • Experience working within Agile or Scrum environments.
