Role Overview

As a Software Test Engineer specializing in consumer electronics, you will ensure the quality, functionality, and robustness of software embedded in our wearable health devices. You will collaborate closely with product development teams and manufacturing partners in Asia and globally to design and execute rigorous test strategies, guaranteeing outstanding product performance and user experience.


Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and execute test plans and test cases for embedded software, mobile apps, and firmware in consumer electronic wearable devices.
  • Perform functional, integration, system, regression, performance, and usability testing for consumer electronics products.
  • Work closely with program managers, product teams, and manufacturing partners to coordinate testing schedules and quality objectives.
  • Validate software and hardware integration, including connectivity features such as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and sensors commonly used in consumer electronics.
  • Identify, document, and communicate software defects, risks, and bottlenecks, supporting timely resolution across global teams.
  • Maintain detailed test documentation and quality reports to comply with regulatory and internal standards.
  • Support automated testing frameworks to improve efficiency and coverage of software validation.
  • Facilitate effective communication between international stakeholders, leveraging Mandarin language skills if possible.
  • Assist in new product introduction (NPI) testing and continuous quality improvement processes.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • 2–5+ years of experience in software testing within the consumer electronics industry, preferably with wearable devices.
  • Proficient in embedded software and mobile app testing, with solid understanding of hardware-software interaction.
  • Experience collaborating with Asian manufacturing partners and cross-cultural teams is highly valued.
  • Strong command of SDLC, test methodologies, and quality assurance practices for consumer electronics.
  • Hands-on experience with test tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail) and scripting languages for automation (Python, Java, etc.).
  • Mandarin fluency (spoken and written) is a plus to support coordination with Asian partners.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills
  • Familiarity with wireless communication protocols (Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, NFC) and sensor technologies used in consumer wearables.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and quality standards applicable to health and wellness consumer electronics.
  • ISTQB or similar software testing certification.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams.
