SAP BTP Consultant

THE OPPORTUNITY:

Responsible for delivering SAP consultancy services to NRI clients, including the design, development, implementation, and support of SAP solutions. The Technical Consultant will develop technical solutions that enable NRI to achieve its business objectives and meet the requirements of its clients. This role may involve working independently, as appropriate to the assignment, or as part of a team under the guidance of a senior SAP practitioner and/or Project Manager.

Customer

• Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of SAP product offerings and solutions relevant to your area of expertise.
• Engage in discussions and workshops with key stakeholders to understand clients' strategic business goals, needs, and processes.
• Translate these goals into SAP best practices to enhance business processes using relevant SAP applications and technologies.
• Contribute to communication with all key stakeholders, including delivering project updates.
• Understand client expectations and objectives, and address assigned solution challenges while providing relevant status updates according to agreed escalation processes.

Solution Design; Technology

• Design, develop, and implement ABAP programs, reports, interfaces, enhancements, and forms to meet business requirements and improve system functionality.
• Perform technical analysis, troubleshooting, and debugging of ABAP code to identify and resolve issues, ensuring system stability and performance.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to end-users, addressing system issues, resolving tickets, and implementing system enhancements and upgrades as needed.
• Modernise User Interfaces by designing and building applications consistent with the SAP Fiori Application Architecture.
• Implementing Fiori applications (transactional, factsheet and analytical) and enhancing standard applications using enhancement framework
• Strong proficiency in SAP BTP/SAP HANA ABAP programming concepts, including object-oriented programming (OOP), REST APIs, ODATA, ALV reporting, BAPIs, RFCs, and SAP Fiori/UI5 development.
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA data models, CDS views, and AMDP (ABAP Managed Database Procedures) is highly desirable.
• Conduct code reviews and provide guidance and mentorship to junior developers to ensure adherence to coding standards, best practices, and quality assurance.
• Configure and customise SAP modules as needed, leveraging ABAP skills to enhance system capabilities and optimize business processes.
• Develop and maintain documentation, including technical specifications, design documents, and test plans, to support system implementations and upgrades.
• Collaborate with SAP functional consultants and business stakeholders to understand requirements, translate business needs into technical specifications, and provide technical expertise and recommendations.
• Testing and Quality Assurance: Develop and execute test plans, perform unit testing, and support user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure the quality and reliability of ABAP developments and migration activities.
• Documentation: Prepare technical specifications, design documents, and other documentation as required, ensuring clear and comprehensive communication of solution designs and implementation detail.
• Knowledge Transfer: Provide guidance, mentoring, and knowledge transfer to junior team members, fostering skill development and knowledge sharing within the SAP ABAP practice.
• Continuous Learning: Stay updated on the latest SAP technologies, ABAP programming techniques, and migration methodologies, continuously expanding skills and knowledge to drive innovation and excellence.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE:

• Relevant hands-on experience in SAP ABAP development, with at least 5 years of experience specifically focused on SAP S/4HANA and SAP BTP.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of SAP business applications pertinent to the role.
• Experience with one (1) full-cycle project implementation and/or two (2) years of full-time support experience.
• In-depth understanding of application best practices and SAP implementation and support methodologies.
• Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate with clients to understand their needs and design effective solutions.
• Must hold current SAP solution certifications in one (1) or more relevant subjects, modules, or disciplines.
• Effective team player with a positive attitude, flexibility, initiative, and the ability to work under pressure; recognised as reliable and capable.
• Demonstrated success in managing commercially successful consulting projects and delivering effective technology implementations.
