Demand Planner is responsible for developing accurate demand forecasts, analyzing market and production data, and ensuring the right balance between supply and demand for all food product lines. Leveraging industrial engineering expertise, the role focuses on streamlining planning processes, minimizing waste and shortages, and supporting operational efficiency across the supply chain.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop accurate demand forecasts for food products based on historical data, market trends, promotions, and seasonality.
- Analyze sales performance, production data, and customer orders to identify patterns and forecast deviations.
- Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Production, and Supply Chain teams to align demand forecasts with business objectives.
- Optimize inventory levels to ensure product availability while minimizing overstock, spoilage, and wastage.
- Use industrial engineering tools to improve planning processes, such as data analysis, process mapping, and capacity planning.
- Monitor forecast accuracy and implement continuous improvement strategies to enhance performance.
- Prepare weekly/monthly demand reports and communicate insights to management.
- Support production planning by providing accurate volume forecasts aligned with plant capacity.
- Participate in S&OP (Sales and Operations Planning) meetings and contribute to decision-making.
- Identify risks in supply or demand and recommend mitigation plans.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
- Experience in demand planning, forecasting, or supply chain roles (preferably in food manufacturing).
- Strong analytical and numerical skills; proficiency in Excel, forecasting tools, or planning software.
- Knowledge of production processes, capacity planning, and supply chain fundamentals.
- Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement practices is an advantage.
- Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
