Geologist – Mining Documentation and Case SupportJob Summary:
The Geologist will be responsible for preparing, reviewing, and submitting geological and mining-related documentation required for legal, regulatory, and administrative proceedings. This includes geological assessments, mining plan data, environmental impact support documents, and technical justifications for mining cases. The role ensures that all submissions comply with applicable mining laws, environmental regulations, and government guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Collection & Analysis:
Gather, analyze, and interpret geological data including lithology, mineral composition, stratigraphy, and resource estimation relevant to mining cases. - Documentation Preparation:
Prepare and compile geological sections, maps, reserves/resources statements, and technical reports for inclusion in mining case files. - Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure all submissions adhere to statutory requirements under mining acts, mineral concession rules, and environmental laws. - Technical Evaluation:
Assist in evaluating lease applications, renewal cases, and prospecting reports with precise geological reasoning. - Map & Drawing Preparation:
Prepare and verify mine plans, surface and geological maps, and cross-sections as per DGMS/IBM standards. - Coordination with Authorities:
Liaise with regulatory bodies, survey teams, and legal departments to ensure accurate and timely submission of technical data in mining cases. - Field Verification:
Conduct or support site inspections and mapping to verify data relevant for case documentation. - Database Management:
Maintain organized geological and mining data records for reference in case histories and audits.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Geology, Applied Geology, or Earth Sciences.
- Minimum 0 years of experience in mining geology, resource estimation, or report preparation.
- Familiarity with Indian Bureau of Mines (IBM), DGMS, and MoEF guidelines (or local equivalent, depending on region).
- Proficient in GIS, AutoCAD, and geological modeling software.
- Strong technical writing and documentation skills.
