Reporting to: IT Infra Team Leader

As an IT Infra - Mid Database Administrator, you will oversee and maintain multiple databases, ensuring security and performance. You will collaborate on database design, resolve performance issues, implement backup and security measures, and monitor databases for uptime. Additionally, you will manage patches, migrations, and disaster recovery plans while ensuring compliance with data protection standards.

Other requirements include the following:

• Administers and maintains multiple database systems, prioritizing security, availability, and performance as key objectives.
• Collaborates closely with application developers and stakeholders to design and optimize database structures, emphasizing data integrity.
• Proactively identifies and resolves performance bottlenecks, optimizes queries, and enforces best practices for enhanced database performance.
• Implements robust backup and recovery strategies to protect critical data and minimize downtime during unforeseen events.
• Upholds stringent database security through user access controls, encryption, auditing, and deploys monitoring tools for proactive issue identification, ensuring continuous database uptime.

To succeed and grow in this role, you will be required to meet the following qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or any other related course
• Minimum of 2 years relevant work experience
• Proficiency in database design, performance tuning, and optimization.
• Strong understanding of database security best practices.
• Experience with backup and recovery procedures.
• Knowledge of data migration and ETL processes.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
• Database certifications (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional, Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator) are a plus.
