Your Role:
A Senior Internal Controls Manager oversees the design, implementation, and optimization of internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR) for a U.S.-based multinational public company. This role serves as a key advisor to senior accounting leadership and acts as a liaison between Internal Audit, control owners, and external auditors to ensure effective, efficient, and compliant control operations.

What You'll Do

  • Oversee the design and ongoing optimization of the company's ICFR program, ensuring compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements.

  • Advise the Chief Accounting Officer and Corporate Controller on internal control matters and best practices.

  • Ensure control documentation is accurately maintained within AuditBoard.

  • Drive improvements in control design by identifying opportunities to automate manual controls and shift from detective to preventive controls.

  • Support Accounting, IT, and other control owners by providing guidance and addressing control-related questions or issues.

  • Serve as a liaison between Internal Audit and control owners across the organization.

  • Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate walkthroughs, testing, and timely resolution of audit requests.

  • Manage project timelines related to ICFR activities, ensuring control owners deliver required documentation on schedule and escalating delays as necessary.

  • Oversee key IT-related controls such as user access reviews (UAR), segregation of duties (SoD), and exception monitoring processes.

What You Need:
Non-negotiables

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA required.

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in public accounting and/or ICFR compliance at a multinational public company.

  • Deep expertise in ICFR and SOX compliance, with strong control design and assessment capabilities.

  • Proven experience working with ERP systems and enterprise platforms (e.g., Oracle, Workday, Salesforce).

  • Strong communication skills with fluency in written and spoken English.

  • Demonstrated leadership in both project and people management.

  • Ability to build collaborative relationships while also driving accountability and timely execution.

  • Proactive, design-oriented mindset with a focus on creating an optimized and efficient control environment—not just maintaining the status quo.
