Coordinates environmental and health program processes and activities to assist the team in maintaining compliance, mitigating and managing environmental, health and safety risks and improving related performance.

The ESG Expert exists to drive and enhance the organization's commitment to environmental sustainability, social responsibility, and ethical governance practices. Operating within the framework of global standards and local regulations, the specialist aims to develop and implement effective ESG strategies that promote accountability, transparency, and positive community impact. The role encompasses establishing measurable goals, engaging stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with relevant reporting frameworks, thereby supporting the company's strategic objectives in sustainability.

Knowledge and Skills

  • ESG Framework Knowledge -In-depth knowledge of key ESG reporting frameworks (ISSB, GRI, SASB, TCFD) is essential for strategy development and compliance.

  • Regulatory Awareness -Familiarity with environmental and labor regulations is crucial for ensuring compliance and mitigating legal risks.

  • Impact Measurement Methodologies -Understanding of methodologies for assessing environmental and social impacts enables effective tracking and reporting on sustainability efforts.

  • Corporate Governance Principles -Strong grasp of ethical conduct and governance standards is necessary for guiding the organization in maintaining transparency and integrity.

  • Stakeholder Management -Skills in engaging diverse stakeholders are vital for gathering insights and fostering collaboration on ESG initiatives.

  • Sustainability Best Practices -Knowledge of industry sustainability trends and best practices helps identify improvement opportunities and implement effective programs.

  • Communication Skills-Proficient communication skills are needed for creating clear reports and presentations for various audiences.

  • Project Management Proficiency - Strong project management skills ensure efficient execution and alignment of sustainability initiatives with organizational goals.

Roles and Responsibilities

  •  ESG Strategy Development

  • Develop and implement the ESG strategy, setting goals, targets, and KPIs.

  • Achievement of ESG targets and KPIs; Annual ESG report findings.

  • ESG Reporting and Disclosures

  • Prepare ESG reports ensuring accuracy and compliance with frameworks.

  • Timeliness and accuracy of reports submitted; Compliance audit results.

  • Stakeholder Engagement

  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to gather insights and address ESG concerns.

  • Stakeholder feedback; Engagement levels in ESG initiatives.

  • Sustainability Initiatives

  • Identify and prioritize sustainability initiatives; collaborate on implementation and tracking.

  • Number of initiatives launched; Reduction in carbon footprint.

  • Social Responsibility

  • Develop community engagement and philanthropic initiatives; promote DEI within the organization.

  • Participation rates in community programs; Employee satisfaction surveys.

  • Ethical Governance

  • Ensure adherence to ethical governance practices; provide guidance on ethical conduct.

  • Compliance with regulatory requirements; Employee ethics training completion rates.
