Job Brief

We are seeking a highly skilled and self-sufficient Mechanical Draftsman to support our team in producing detailed CAD drawings for mechanical systems and equipment. This role is ideal for someone with strong experience in drafting components such as pumps, engines, motors, and other mechanical assemblies. You will be responsible for preparing both 2D and 3D CAD models using your own tools and software, delivering accurate and technically sound drawings for internal and external use.

Responsibilities

  • Create detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings of mechanical systems and components.
  • Interpret technical drawings, specifications, and engineering sketches to create accurate models.
  • Revise existing CAD drawings based on feedback and project requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineers and project managers to clarify technical requirements.
  • Deliver final drawings in agreed formats suitable for manufacturing, engineering, and documentation purposes.
  • Ensure consistency and accuracy across all project deliverables.
  • Maintain version control and proper documentation of all drawings.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Draftsman or CAD Technician.
  • Demonstrated expertise with mechanical equipment such as pumps, engines, and motors.
  • Proficient in producing both 2D and 3D drawings.
  • Must have access to and proficiency in industry-standard CAD software (e.g. AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Fusion 360, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems and design principles.
  • Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Based in the Philippines with availability to work during Australian business hours.

Desirable

  • Experience preparing fabrication drawings for industrial or commercial projects.
  • Prior work with international engineering firms or remote client teams.
  • Ability to provide rendered images or exploded views as required.
  • Familiarity with Australian or international mechanical drafting standards.

Software Proficiency

  • CAD Tools: AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Revit (if applicable)
  • 3D Modelling: SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar
  • Productivity: Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Google Workspace
  • File Sharing: Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive

Education

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or related technical field
  • Certified CAD training or credentials highly regarded
