Informix DBA

Job Title: DBA - Informix 4 GL

Location:  Taguig, Metro Manila

Work Schedule:  Hybrid, 2 x a week RTO

Position Type: 6 Months Contract

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, maintain, and optimize applications using Informix 4GL and SQL.
• Design and implement database structures to support business applications.
• Write and troubleshoot complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and triggers.
• Work with Informix Dynamic Server (IDS) to manage and optimize databases.
• Develop and enhance user interfaces and reports for business applications.
• Debug, test, and troubleshoot application issues to ensure stability and performance.
• Collaborate with DBAs and system administrators to improve database efficiency.
• Modernize and migrate legacy Informix 4GL applications to newer platforms where necessary.
• Ensure data security, integrity, and compliance with company policies.
• Create and maintain technical documentation for applications and development processes.
• Strong experience in Informix 4GL programming and Informix Dynamic Server (IDS).
• Proficiency in SQL, stored procedures (SPL), and database optimization.
• Experience with UNIX/Linux environments and shell scripting.
• Knowledge of database performance tuning, indexing, and query optimization.
• Familiarity with integration of Informix 4GL applications with other systems (ERP, APIs, etc.).
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills for troubleshooting application and database issues.
• Experience with modernizing legacy Informix applications is a plus.
