Job Summary

The Chef de Partie plays a key role in the kitchen operations by managing a specific station or section and ensuring the consistent preparation, cooking, and presentation of high-quality food items. The CDP is responsible for the end-to-end food production process—from requisitioning raw materials, executing mise-en-place, cooking, baking, and plating, to packaging and monitoring inventory. This role requires strong culinary skills, attention to detail, and the ability to uphold company standards in food safety, quality, and presentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and manage daily operations of an assigned kitchen section.
  • Prepare, cook, bake, and present dishes according to company standards and recipes.
  • Oversee the mise-en-place process, ensuring readiness before service.
  • Monitor stock levels, requisition supplies, and assist in inventory control.
  • Ensure proper handling, labeling, and storage of raw and finished products.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in compliance with food safety standards.
  • Assist in training and mentoring Commis Chefs and other junior kitchen staff.
  • Check portion control, minimize wastage, and optimize use of ingredients.
  • Contribute to menu planning, recipe testing, and innovation when required.
  • Uphold hygiene, sanitation, and occupational safety practices at all times.

Qualifications

  • At least 2–3 years of proven culinary experience in a professional kitchen.
  • Diploma/Certificate in Culinary Arts, Hospitality, or related field preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, baking, and international/local cuisine.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to food quality and presentation.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards (HACCP or equivalent).
  • Excellent teamwork, leadership, and communication skills.
