Position Overview

The Diamond Specialist / Sales Associate is responsible for providing exceptional customer service, expert product knowledge, and tailored guidance to clients in selecting diamonds and fine jewelry. This role involves driving sales, maintaining client relationships, and ensuring the highest standards of presentation and professionalism.


Key Responsibilities

Sales & Customer Service

  • Greet and assist customers in selecting diamonds and fine jewelry that meet their needs and preferences.
  • Provide expert advice on diamond quality, characteristics, grading (4Cs), and value.
  • Present products in a compelling and professional manner to maximize sales opportunities.
  • Meet or exceed individual and store sales targets.
  • Follow up with customers to ensure satisfaction and encourage repeat business.

Product Knowledge

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of diamonds, gemstones, precious metals, and jewelry trends.
  • Understand and explain diamond grading reports (GIA, IGI, etc.).
  • Attend training sessions to enhance product expertise and sales techniques.

Store Operations

  • Assist with inventory management, stock counts, and product replenishment.
  • Ensure display areas are clean, organized, and visually appealing.
  • Handle transactions accurately, following all company cash handling and POS procedures.

Compliance & Professionalism

  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
  • Maintain confidentiality of client information.
  • Follow security and safety protocols at all times.

Qualifications
  • Proven retail sales experience, preferably in luxury goods, jewelry, or related industries.
  • Strong knowledge of diamonds and gemstones (GIA certification or equivalent preferred).
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.

Working Conditions
  • Retail store environment with occasional evening, weekend, and holiday work.
  • Standing for extended periods and handling fine merchandise.
