About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Shopify Consultant with over 8 years of experience in Shopify development, backend integrations, and eCommerce optimisation.
This role requires someone who not only excels technically but can also engage directly with clients, provide strategic ideas to increase customer engagement, and contribute to continuous improvements for sales growth.
The ideal candidate must possess strong communication skills, the ability to handle escalations professionally, and the capability to translate business needs into scalable Shopify solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Engagement & Sales Enhancement
 Analyse user behavior and recommend improvements to boost engagement and conversions.
 Suggest UI/UX enhancements, content adjustments, and layout improvements to increase sales.
 Provide insights into marketing-driven improvements such as landing page optimisation and funnel enhancements.

Shopify Development & Customisation
 Develop, customise, and optimise Shopify themes using Liquid, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
 Create responsive, visually appealing, and high-performing storefronts.
 Build custom Shopify apps and implement new features as required.

Client-Facing Responsibilities
 Communicate with clients regularly to understand requirements, provide updates, and present solutions.
 Manage client queries and support escalations with professionalism and clarity.
 Offer recommendations for platform upgrades, new features, and process improvements.
 Represent the technical team in client discussions, demos, and problem-solving sessions.

Backend Development & Database Connectivity
 Integrate Shopify with external databases, ERP/CRM systems, and APIs.
 Build and maintain backend logic and middleware for data processing.
 Ensure seamless and secure data flow across systems. Debugging & Technical Issue Resolution
 Troubleshoot and resolve complex bugs, performance issues, and configuration problems.
 Conduct root cause analysis and implement long-term fixes.
 Perform regular code reviews and site performance audits.

Requirements

Must Have:
 8+ years of hands-on experience in Shopify development (themes + apps).
 Strong knowledge of Shopify Liquid, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and jQuery.
 Experience with backend integrations (APIs, webhooks, database connectivity, ERP/CRM systems).
 Confident in handling client escalations and managing expectations.
 Ability to propose strategic ideas to improve customer attraction and sales performance.
 Experience working directly with clients in a consulting or development capacity.
 Must be able to work in AEST timezone.

Good to Have:
 Familiarity with , React, or other backend frameworks.
 Knowledge of SEO best practices for Shopify.
 Experience with headless Shopify or Shopify Plus.
 Understanding of eCommerce usability, CRO, and digital marketing strategies.
