Sous Chef - Responsible for a specific section of the kitchen, prepares high quality of food that meets the standard and handles everything from preparation to cooking to final presentation of dishes.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1.) Follows instructions and directions of the head chef and have inputs in new ways of presentation or dishes.
2.) Collaborates with the rest of the team to ensure high high quality of food and service.
3.) Supervise the line cook and ensure the cooking standards are implemented.
4.) Ensures high standard of food hygiene and safety protocols are observed.
5.) Give ideas in the creation and improving of menus.
6.) Maintains kitchen and food costs by controlling wastage in the kitchen.
7.) Strict implementation of standards and systems.
Job Requirements and Qualifications:
1.) Minimum of 2-year experience in fine dining or upscale or restaurant environment.
2.) Sound knowledge of proper food handling procedures by monitoring expiration, removing of spoiled ingredients, from the freezer, stockroom.
3.) Wiilingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
4.) Familiar in industry best practices
5.) Graduate from culinary school or its equivalent.
