The
Mechanical Engineer
is responsible for the planning, resource forecasting, implementation and progress monitoring of infrastructure/CAPEX (Capital Expenditure) projects, structural repairs and process improvements in the plant site, ensuring that they are compliant to applicable standards and within cost and schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

Conceptual Design/Development and Project Estimates

  1. Prepares and studies technical drawings, specifications and topographical maps, systems processes in order to develop conceptual designs based on customer requirements and established company standard.
  2. Prepares schedules, cost and resource estimate
  3. Prepares Terms of Reference (TOR) and other related technical documents in preparation for supplier bidding

Project Evaluation

  1. Evaluates the technical proposal of each bidder based on approved project proposal.
  2. Recommends qualified contractors based on the technical evaluation results, prior to the conduct of commercial evaluation

Project Implementation and Acceptance

  1. Conducts kick-off meeting with contractors, end-users and other project participating groups prior to actual project implementation
  2. Conducts periodic inspection and monitoring of projects to ensure conformance to design specifications, safety and environment standards.
  3. Conducts periodic coordination meetings to report project progress and updates to ensure that it is within cost and schedule.
  4. Conducts final inspection and punch listing in coordination with other project participating groups.
  5. Confirms project completion and recommends project acceptance to management, prior to formal turn-over to the end-user/project requestor.
  6. Prepares periodic reports on project progress monitoring.
  7. Gathers and safe keeps all the documentations related to the project for future reference.

Special Project Initiatives

  1. Conducts Engineering Feasibility Studies /Cost Benefits Analysis for new projects in the site prior to implementation
  2. Provides technical consultation and support regarding design, construction and structural repairs for process and equipment improvement
  3. Provides data (e.g. surveying) and technical evaluation (e.g. material specifications, structural/mechanical integrity) as requested by the end-user
  4. Gathers and tabulates metering data from contractors to be used for reconciliation of billing and reporting purposes
  5. Conducts final inspection and punch listing in coordination with other project participating groups.
  6. Confirms project completion and recommends project acceptance to management, prior to formal turn-over to the end-user/project requestor.
  7. Gathers and safe keeps all the documentations related to the project for future reference.

Budget Management

  1. Assists in the preparation of annual operations budget

Integrated Management System Compliance

  1. Compliance to IMS policies and procedures

Environment, Health & Safety Compliance

  1. Conducts initial risk assessment in all plant performance and equipment testing activities
  2. Compliance to environmental, health and safety policies and procedures

Position Requirements:

Education :
Graduate of Bachelor's Degree in Engineering

Work Experience :
At least 2 years of experience in power plant operations or related industries

License/s :
Licensed engineer

Others

  • Must be able to operate Computer Aided Design (CAD) software
  • Proficient in written and verbal communications
  • Proficient in data gathering, analysis and reports preparation
