About the Role:

As the Reception Supervisor, you are the bridge between the hostel management and the front desk crew. You will ensure that every guest—from the moment they walk in until they check out—has a seamless and memorable experience. You aren't just checking people in; you are setting the vibe and managing the chaos with a smile.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Team Leadership & Operations

  • Manage the Desk: Oversee daily front desk operations, ensuring all procedures (check-ins, check-outs, payments) are handled accurately.
  • Lead the Crew: Train, mentor, and motivate the reception team. Create staff rosters and manage shift coverage.
  • Standards: Ensure the reception area and lobby remain clean, organized, and welcoming at all times.

2. Guest Experience

  • Problem Solving: Act as the first point of escalation for guest complaints or issues. You turn negative situations into positive outcomes.
  • Social Director: Assist in promoting hostel events, tours, and social gatherings to ensure guests connect with one another.
  • Reviews: Monitor and respond to online reviews (Hostelworld, , Google) to maintain our reputation.

3. Administration & Revenue

  • Cash Management: oversee shift closings, cash handling, and daily reconciliations.
  • Inventory: Manage inventory for reception sales (drinks, merchandise, locks, adaptors).
  • Systems: Act as the expert on our Property Management System (PMS), ensuring data accuracy and reporting.

Who We Are Looking For:
  • Experience: Minimum 1–2 years in hospitality (Hostels preferred, but Hotel experience works too). Previous supervisory experience is a huge plus.
  • Language: Fluent in English (written and spoken).
  • Tech Savvy: Comfortable with computers and booking software (e.g., Booking.Com, Hostelworld, SiteMinder).
  • The Personality: You are an extrovert who loves meeting new people .
  • Flexibility: Hostels are 24/7. You must be willing to work flexible hours, including some weekends or holidays.
