School Technician

The British School Manila is seeking a dedicated and skilled School Technician to join our Operations Team. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the efficient, safe, and timely maintenance of the school's facilities, equipment, and staff housing.

Specifically, amongst all other tasks, the School Technician will:

1. Assist the operations manager and coordinate with the property coordinator to ensure efficient and safe administration and prompt delivery of services related to the general maintenance of staff house accommodation and various school equipment
2. Carry out timely repairs and maintenance of staff house accommodations and school buildings, grounds, facilities, and staff houses.
3. Conduct inspections of school and staff housing facilities and prepare maintenance reports.
4. Assist in coordinating with contractors, suppliers, and service agencies for maintenance and repairs. Supervise work carried out by a 3rd party contractor on staff houses and school facilities.
5. Maintain and repair school machinery and equipment, including air-conditioning units, plumbing, and electrical systems.
6. Conduct regular safety checks on fire safety equipment, generators, and other systems.
7. Provide support during school events and ensure facilities and technical equipment are operational.

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:

1. College graduate and/or graduate of a technical course (must have TESDA Certificate) or any related degree, with a minimum of 5 years of work experience in building maintenance, equipment repair, and basic carpentry/electrical/plumbing.
2. Motivated, organised, diligent, and able to work well both independently and collaboratively.
3. Able to liaise with external contractors and to meet tight deadlines.
4. Work experience in a multi-cultural and/or academic environment is an advantage.

Remuneration:

The pay and benefits package in Philippine peso will be tailored based on the candidate's qualifications.
