Our design process fully considers the installation and maintenance practicalities on site.As part of the Global Power Systems and Infrastructure team, this role will provide the necessary support for Hydrogeology survey expertise to complement and enhance our Mechanical, Electrical and Lead Design Management teams during Site Due Diligence or Land Acquisition activities. In addition, this role will work closely with our Civil engineering team to provide guidance during project execution. The key function of this role is to study and monitor, groundwater resources available on potential sites identified for development or acquisition.ROLE RESPONSIBILITIESProvide input into site due diligence for land acquisition or developmentConduct desktop studies to evaluate flood risk, water table levels, drainage and underground contaminantsAssess groundwater exploration results from field surveys, drilling, and aquifer testing.Advise on groundwater levels, flow, recharge, and discharge processes.Analyse groundwater quality and identify sources of contamination.If required, develop groundwater models to simulate flow and predict impacts of abstraction or pollution.If required, design and oversee remediation systems for contaminated groundwater.Provide input to environmental impact assessments (EIA) and regulatory compliance studies.Provide hydrogeological expertise to client engineering projects.Prepare technical reports, maps, and recommendations for decision-makers.Advise on sustainable groundwater management strategies and climate change resilience.Evaluate computer model results simulating groundwater movementThere may be requirements for site inspections and attending client meetingsADDITIONAL ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES (QHSE)All roles include responsibility for health and safety in line with the requirements set out in the Employee Handbook.Awareness of H&S policies and procedures and impact on yourself and teamEnsure all staff members complete mandatory compliance training when requiredReport any accidents, incidents, near misses appropriatelyROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES (RESOURCES)This is a senior appointment and will be required to develop full delivery capability including budget setting and achieving internal targetsResponsible for the development and delivery of the strategic roadmap to grow the teamEDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIREMENT (MINIMUM)Bachelor's degree in Hydrogeology, Geology, Environmental Science, or related field.Master's degree in Hydrogeology or Water Resources (desirable).Professional certifications or registration (desirable).EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS (MINIMUM)Strong knowledge of hydrogeology, geology, and hydrology.Experience with groundwater modelling software (e.g., MODFLOW, FEFLOW).Proficiency in GIS and geospatial mapping tools.Ability to conduct field investigations, sampling, and pump tests.Analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.Good communication skills for technical reporting and stakeholder engagement.Teamwork and ability to work in multidisciplinary environmentsGETTING RESULTS AND WORKING TOGETHERThe post holder will be expected to operate in line with our workplace values:ACCOUNTABILITY > Everyone is accountable.INTEGRITY > We are straight talking, respectful and fair.SIMPLICITY > Both in our approach and solutions.SUPPORTIVE > We are approachable, inclusive and recognise success.QUALITY > We strive to get it right first time, every time.
