The Head Groomer is responsible for overseeing grooming operations within the retail pet care facility, ensuring high standards of pet safety, hygiene, and customer service. Working closely with the Veterinarian Doctor, the Head Groomer ensures that all grooming services comply with animal health and welfare standards. The role includes supervising groomers, maintaining grooming quality, and delivering a positive experience for both pets and pet owners.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and supervise daily grooming operations, ensuring quality, consistency, and safety.
  • Coordinate closely with theVeterinarian Doctor regarding pet health conditions, grooming restrictions, and special care requirements.
  • Perform professional grooming services, including bathing, haircutting, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and coat care.
  • Assess pets' behavior, coat condition, and overall health prior to grooming; report concerns to the Veterinarian Doctor.
  • Ensure compliance with animal welfare, safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards.
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate junior groomers and grooming assistants.
  • Manage grooming schedules, appointments, and workflow to support retail operations.
  • Handle customer inquiries, provide grooming recommendations, and address service-related concerns.
  • Ensure proper use, maintenance, and sanitation of grooming tools and equipment.
  • Support inventory management of grooming supplies and tools.
  • Assist in developing grooming protocols and service standards in coordination with management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proven experience as a Professional Pet Groomer, with at least 3–5 years of grooming experience.
  • Prior experience in a lead or supervisory grooming role is highly preferred.
  • Certification in pet grooming from a recognized institution is an advantage.
  • Basic knowledge of pet health, behavior, and common skin or coat conditions.
  • Ability to work closely with a Veterinarian Doctor and follow medical grooming instructions.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Physically fit and able to handle pets of various sizes and temperaments.
  • Willing to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as required in retail operations.
