Job Summary

The General Accounting Analyst – Taxation is responsible for handling general accounting and tax-related activities while providing analytical support and 1–2 affiliated companies. The role focuses on accurate recording of transactions, tax compliance, financial analysis, and preparation of reports to support management and supervisory decisions.

Duties and Responsibilities

General Accounting

· Prepare and analyze journal entries, general ledger accounts, and supporting schedules

· Perform monthly account reconciliations and investigate variances

· Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports

· Ensure proper documentation and organization of accounting records

· Support accounting activities related to inventory, expenses, accruals, and adjustments

Taxation & Compliance

· Assist in the preparation and review of BIR tax returns including VAT, Percentage Tax, Withholding Taxes (Expanded & Compensation), and other related filings

· Prepare tax schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documents

· Monitor tax deadlines and assist in timely filing and payment of taxes

· Support requirements for BIR audits, tax mapping, and compliance checks

· Ensure compliance with Philippine tax laws and company policies

Financial Analysis & Reporting

· Analyze financial statements and account movements to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement

· Prepare variance analysis, cost analysis, and tax impact analysis

· Develop analytical reports and dashboards to support management decisions

· Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities

Coordination & Support

· Coordinate with internal departments and external parties such as auditors and tax consultants

· Provide analytical and accounting support to supervisors and management

· Perform other accounting, tax, and analysis-related tasks as assigned

Qualifications

· Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Accounting Technology, Finance, or related course

· CPA license is an advantage but not required

· At least 2–4 years of experience in general accounting, taxation, and financial analysis

· Experience handling 1–2 companies or multiple sets of books is an advantage

· Working knowledge of Philippine taxation and BIR compliance

· Strong analytical skills with experience in data analysis

· Proficient in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, data analysis) and MS Office

· Experience using accounting software or ERP systems is an advantage

· Detail-oriented, organized, and able to meet deadlines
