The Accounts Payable Clerk provides financial, administrative, and clerical support by ensuring that all company expenditures are processed, verified, and reconciled accurately and in a timely manner. This role is essential for maintaining the organization's financial health, cash flow, and strong relationships with vendors and suppliers.

  • Receive, verify, and process a high volume of vendor invoices and expense reports.
  • Match invoices to purchase orders and receiving documents and resolve any three-way matching discrepancies.
  • Code expenses to correct general ledger accounts and cost centers.
  • Prepare and schedule payment runs to ensure timely payment and take advantage of vendor discounts.
  • Process and reconcile employee expense reports and company credit card statements.
  • Reconcile vendor statements monthly to the accounts payable ledger, investigating and resolving any outstanding balances or issues.
  • Maintain accurate and organized vendor files and documentation.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities related to accounts payable, including generating necessary reports.
  • Process journal entries related to accounts payable transactions.
  • Respond to vendor inquiries regarding payment status, invoice issues, and discrepancies in a professional and timely manner.
  • Ensure compliance with company financial policies, internal controls, and relevant tax regulations.
  • Assist in financial audits by providing required documentation and explanations.
