Job Summary
The CAD Operator is responsible for creating, modifying, and reviewing technical drawings and plans using computer-aided design (CAD) software. This role supports engineers, architects, and designers by preparing accurate 2D and 3D models, ensuring that all drawings comply with project specifications, standards, and client requirements. The CAD Operator plays a key role in translating design concepts into detailed technical documentation used for manufacturing, construction, or engineering purposes.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and revise detailed 2D and 3D drawings, layouts, and schematics using CAD software.
- Interpret and translate design sketches, specifications, and engineering notes into technical drawings.
- Ensure accuracy, clarity, and compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, and project teams to resolve design discrepancies.
- Maintain and organize drawing files, records, and documentation for easy retrieval.
- Apply CAD standards, templates, and best practices to ensure consistency in drawings.
- Assist in preparing presentation drawings, technical illustrations, and design models.
- Conduct drawing reviews and make necessary modifications as instructed by supervisors or clients.
- Coordinate with manufacturing or construction teams to clarify technical details when required.
- Stay updated with new CAD software features, tools, and industry practices.
Qualifications
- Diploma, certificate, or associate degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, Architecture, or related field.
- Proven experience as a CAD Operator, Draftsman, or similar role.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit, or other industry-specific programs.
- Strong knowledge of technical drawing standards, drafting techniques, and geometric dimensioning.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Detail-oriented with strong accuracy and organizational skills.
- Good problem-solving, communication, and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
- Familiarity with BIM (Building Information Modeling) or 3D modeling software is an advantage.
- Willingness to adapt to different industry needs (architectural, mechanical, electrical, or civil projects).
Willing to be assigned full-time in Tondo, Manila.
