A. General Description of the Position:
The Junior Legal Officer is responsible for providing general administrative support and assistance in processing and completing documents involving legal matters.
B. List of Responsibilities:
- Research and analyze statues, regulations, government agency guidance, judicial decisions, legal articles, and reports to prepare complex legal documents such as briefs, opinions, resolutions, pleadings, appeals, and contracts, for review and approval by the Legal Officer
- Deliver or direct delivery of official communication from Legal Officer to witnesses, respondents, and/or parties to action.
- Prepares reports, studies and official correspondences as well as draft legal documents such as briefs, appeals, contracts, legal agreements and motions.
- Checks legal forms for accuracy.
- Facilitates compliance with government mandated requirements.
- Liaise with other departments and external parties where necessary.
- Manage, organize, and maintain documents in paper or electronic filing systems.
- Performs field works for filing of reports and documents to government agencies, regulatory bodies, private institutions and others if necessary.
- Attend non-routine, difficult, or sensitive meetings or hearings to record significant elements of discussion and record official action
- Oversee or prepare agenda in advance of proceedings, minutes or summaries of proceedings, and file and distribute minutes for official records
- Maintain case calendars, including filing deadlines, hearing dates, and other important dates, in accordance with legal requirements. Track deadlines and consult with the Legal Officer as necessary to ensure deadlines are met.
- May maintain some fiscal records for the department, such as budget or special fund accounts for operations. May prepare and process invoices, requisitions, expense claims and vouchers, requests for payment, and compile periodic reports
- Performs other duties as required to accomplish the objectives of the position.
C. Qualifications
- Must have a Bachelor's Degree in Law
- Must be a certified Bar Passer
- Preferably with experience in a corporate setting - but not required
- Strong analytical and communication skills with focus on negotiation.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Php35, Php45,000.00 per month
