The Purchasing Clerk will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing goods and services for the company, ensuring cost-effective and timely deliveries. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to maintain strong supplier relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Procurement: Research, evaluate, and select suppliers based on cost, quality, and delivery time.
  • Order Management: Place and track purchase orders to ensure timely delivery and alignment with inventory needs.
  • Vendor Relations: Establish and maintain positive relationships with suppliers, addressing any issues or concerns promptly.
  • Inventory Control: Monitor stock levels, anticipate demand, and reorder items to ensure minimal disruption in operations.
  • Negotiation: Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions with suppliers to secure the best deals.
  • Market Research: Stay up-to-date with market trends, pricing, and supplier capabilities.
  • Budget Management: Assist in managing budgets and ensure purchases are within allocated financial limits.
  • Compliance: Ensure purchases meet the company's quality standards and comply with any relevant regulations.
  • Reporting: Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier communications. Provide regular reports to management on procurement activities.
  • Problem-Solving: Resolve any issues related to delivery delays, damaged goods, or product quality, and communicate effectively with relevant stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience: Proven experience as a Buyer or in a similar role, preferably in manufacturing or chemical industry.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze market trends and supplier performance.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks effectively.
