Job Summary

Under the direct supervision of the Subject Area Coordinator, the Basic Education Faculty delivers effective and efficient classroom Instruction that creates the necessary conditions for optimum learning.

Responsibilities and Duties

A. LEARNING ENVIRONMENT

1. Provides a climate for the BED students to grow in their Catholic faith.

2. Ensures that the classroom is clean, orderly and safe.

3. Maintains sincere and open relationships with their students

4. Enhances the physical appearance of the classroom to make it conducive to learning.

B. CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT

1. Meets and handles assigned classes at the designated time and location

2. Checks and monitors the daily attendance of students

3. Starts and ends class meetings at the scheduled times and with a prayer

4. Supervises and manages student behavior

5. Reports untoward incidents such as fighting and bullying to the OSDW.

6. Informs the Guidance Office of suspected child abuse

7. Supervises the implementation of school rules and regulations

C. INSTRUCTIONAL DELIVERY AND FACILITATION

1. Plans, organizes and prepares for classes assigned.

2. Makes use of a variety of instructional techniques and materials to respond to the diverse abilities of the students.

3. Implements the curriculum guide towards the development of higher order thinking skills.

4. Prepares lesson plans, instructional materials and test questions promptly.

5. Computes and submits grades and student progress reports on schedule.

6. Monitors student academic performance

7. Develops an awareness of and responsiveness to the socio-economic, political and cultural issues in the Philippines and the world.

8. Conducts classroom-based action research to help students in their academic performance.

9. Develops and administers subject-specific rubrics to evaluate students' competency levels

10. Assesses student progress to provide feedback to students, parents, and administration

11. Refers students to counselors, tutoring, and other professional resources as appropriate

12. Checks all test papers accurately and diligently.

13. Collects and checks projects and daily works and other academic-related outputs.

14. Sits in the deliberation on honors and students with failures.

15. Confers with parents on students' progress and other concerns

D. PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITY

1. Implements the school's philosophy of education and instructional goals

2. Attends his/her class regularly and punctually

3. Maintains accurate and complete records of students

4. Responds to inquiries from other teachers, parents, administrators, students, and office staff to resolve issues or provide information related to the performance of the students.

5. Establishes and upholds cooperative relations with students, parents, faculty and staff

6. Renews Professional Teacher license and membership in professional organizations.

7. Engages in the endeavors and concerns of the school and the larger community

8. Continually upgrades his/her competence through seminars/graduate courses in their field of specialization for his/her overall professional growth

9. Participates in meetings called for by the BED Principal or subject area coordinator.

10. Accepts substitution work when needed.

Qualifications and Skills

• Roman Catholic
• Holder of Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) license

Faculty for Basic Education

Bachelor's Degree in Secondary Education major in Filipino

• Subject matter competence: FILIPINO
• Demonstrates enthusiasm for teaching as well as willingness and ability to learn new material in assigned subject area
• Experienced in the use of technology
• Skilled in applying assessment instruments, operating standard office equipment and preparing and maintaining accurate records
• Demonstrates knowledge of stages of child development and behavioral management strategies
• Flexible, exhibits tact and patience
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Php19,000.00 per month
