POSITION SUMMARY:

The Sales engineer is responsible for meeting sales revenue, creating new opportunities and addressing all requirements of assigned customers. He/she is expected to work closely with supply chain, customer service, applications engineer and related office personnel at the PH location.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare and deliver service/product demonstrations and sales presentations that explain key technical aspects of solutions that will benefit customers and potential customers.
  • Collaborate with the team to understand customer requirements and how to provide support.
  • Establish new accounts by identifying potential customers; planning and organizing sales call schedule.
  • Attend to technical requirements and inquiries of customers and effectively communicate this to the Equipment and Process Engineering teams for the product design/services requirement.
  • Identify areas where customer satisfaction can be improved and repeat business, then communicate those issues and possible solutions to upper management.
  • Use technical skills to demonstrate to potential customers the usefulness of the product or service and how it may suit the customer better than competing products.
  • Prepare and submit quotations /business proposals and follow-up status.
  • Provide answers to client questions about the product, services, and other technical aspects of the product.
  • Be able to think critically and suggest improvements that might lead to cost savings or other customer benefits.
  • Research the industry on an on-going basis to know what changes may be on the horizon that will impact current and future sales.
  • Willingness to travel and devote long hours to challenging sales projects.
  • Work with compliance to ensure all legal requirements are met.
  • Encourage teamwork within the sales team and be an example to other sales personnel
  • Oversee the activities of Sales and Customer Service personnel.
  • Carry out such other related duties that may be assigned by his/her superior from time to time.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering
  • At least 3 years' experience in Sales with strong technical and analytical skills
  • Solid understanding of the company's products or services, especially if they are complex or technical
  • Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical clients
  • Ability to create and deliver compelling product demonstrations and proposals
  • Familiarity with industry-specific tools or software (e.g., CRM systems like Salesforce)
  • Problem-solving mindset and solution-oriented approach
  • Strong project management and time management skills
  • Willingness to travel to meet clients or attend trade shows/conferences (preferably with valid driver's license)
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and capable of working independently or as part of a team
