Overview

The Kannon Middle Office (KMO) team works in partnership with Trading, Global Strategic Analytics (GSA), Finance and Operations to facilitate the delivery of accurate and complete valuations for the FIC business on the Bank's strategic valuation platform.

The team works to get to the core of technical inefficiencies and pricing challenges that are impacting intraday and end of day RPL. In addition to being central to the implementation of both rapid solutions and the delivery of longer-term strategic upgrades on the platform in partnership with GSA development resources.

This is a strategic group with a BizOp's focus, we look to ensure the integrity of processing whilst controlling complexities and driving automation, where you'll be able to add real value as a business partner.

Your key responsibilities

Combine your knowledge of trade lifecycle events, P&L pricing and risk management to help support and define our future state Kannon unified platform.

• Provide support to trading by monitoring intraday risk in Kannon, which may include troubleshooting problems arising on an ad-hoc basis or reacting to event driven demands.

• Initiate solutions to problems by leveraging expertise available and using knowledge of the system flows and pricing.

• Take ownership in the Book of Work prioritization and planning initiatives within the wider Strats/FO team.

Your skills and experience

You should have relevant domain knowledge across the Banking Industry in Operations, Middle Office, Finance or Risk. The role requires analytical, modelling, pricing and risk management skills in a financial services environment. You must have a proficient understanding of trade bookings and good knowledge of Risk, and PnL concepts and a desire to work on new system applications and website tools.

You should also be able to add value independently or collaboratively within a team, taking a pro-active attitude to delivery. You will thrive working with virtual teams within a matrixed organization operating in a fast-paced environment. Ideally, you'll have knowledge of management information systems and front to back understanding of how various financial products flow.
