AI-first software engineer with 5 to 7 years of relevant work experience, responsible for maintaining and extending a multi-repository codebase across backend services, desktop, and mobile applications. Emphasis on AI-assisted development, solid software design, independent delivery, and testing own work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and enhance existing applications and services across multiple repositories and technologies.
  • Design, implement, and refactor features with clear boundaries, clean abstractions, and maintainable structure.
  • Use AI coding tools as a primary part of daily workflow for exploration, implementation, refactoring, documentation, and tests.
  • Own work end‑to‑end: from reading requirements/specs, through implementation and testing, to handing over a stable change.
  • Write and run appropriate tests (unit, integration, and targeted end‑to‑end) and verify changes in a running system.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision, while documenting decisions and communicating progress clearly.

AI‑First Development (Mandatory)

  • Daily, fluent use of AI coding tools such as Cursor, Augment Code, GitHub Copilot, or similar.
  • Reliance on AI to:
  • understand unfamiliar codebases and libraries,
  • generate and refactor code,
  • propose tests, documentation, and build/CI changes.
  • Responsibility for reviewing, adapting, and validating AI‑generated output; AI is treated as a multiplier, not an autopilot.

Core Technical Skills

  • Strong experience in at least one of the following:
  • C# / .NET - Web APIs, background services, and/or desktop (e.g. WinForms or similar).
  • Java - server or desktop/Android applications, including build tooling (Maven or Gradle).
  • Ability and willingness, with AI support, to become productive in additional stacks (e.g. Java .NET, Android).
  • Solid understanding of relational databases (preferably SQL Server): schema design, queries, migrations, and performance basics.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g. GitHub Actions, other CI tools): reading and adjusting workflows, artifacts, and build steps.
  • Proficiency with version control (Git) and collaborative development practices (branches, PRs, code reviews).

Software Design & Quality

  • Strong software design skills:
  • layering and modularisation (e.g. API/domain/infrastructure separation),
  • clean interfaces and data models,
  • clear error‑handling and logging strategies.
  • Habit of testing own work:
  • writing and maintaining unit and integration tests,
  • performing targeted manual verification in realistic environments,
  • using logs and diagnostics to validate behaviour and track down issues.
  • Comfort translating requirements, technical docs, or existing behaviour into:
  • explicit acceptance criteria, and
  • verifiable implementations.
