PSBD, Inc. is a full-service data protection consultancy founded by the Philippines' first Privacy Commissioner. We help schools, government agencies, local and foreign enterprises and conglomerates, meet their privacy obligations through regulatory expertise and privacy-enhancing technologies like PRIVAAS. Many of those trained under our mentorship have gone on to become highly recruited privacy professionals.

Role: UI/UX Designer

Job Summary

The UI/UX Designer is responsible for creating intuitive, user-centered digital experiences that integrate
privacy-by-design
principles. This role ensures that every product interface developed by Privacy and Security by Design, Inc. balances usability, accessibility, and compliance with the
Data Privacy Act of 2012
and other relevant privacy and security standards. The UI/UX Designer collaborates with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, efficient, and user-friendly solutions that promote trust and compliance in digital environments.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conceptualize, design, and deliver user-friendly interfaces for web and mobile platforms.
  • Incorporate
    privacy and security features
    (such as consent mechanisms, minimal data collection, and transparency in data use) into all design processes.
  • Create wireframes, mockups, and prototypes to communicate design solutions effectively.
  • Conduct user research, usability testing, and analyze feedback to improve product experience and compliance.
  • Work closely with developers, project managers, and privacy officers to translate privacy and compliance requirements into practical design elements.
  • Maintain the company's design system, ensuring visual consistency and branding across platforms.
  • Document UI/UX standards, workflows, and guidelines aligned with ISO 27001 and NPC compliance requirements.
  • Continuously monitor trends in
    privacy-focused design
    , accessibility, and user experience best practices.

Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in
    graphic design, Human-Computer Interaction, Information Technology, Computer Science, Multimedia Arts, or related field
    .
  • Proven experience (2–3 years preferred) in
    UI/UX design
    for web or mobile applications.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating
    user-centered design
    with a focus on clean, functional, and privacy-compliant solutions.
  • Knowledge of
    privacy-by-design principles
    , accessibility standards, and data privacy compliance (Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012 is an advantage).
  • Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as
    Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, or similar
    .
  • Familiarity with
    front-end technologies
    (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React/Angular) is a plus.
  • Excellent collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with developers, product managers, and compliance teams.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and commitment to continuous learning in both design and privacy standards
