Job Summary

We are looking for a technically strong Software Engineer with at least 2 years of application support experience to provide 24x7 production support for enterprise applications. The role involves incident resolution, troubleshooting, minor enhancements, and proactive system monitoring using UNIX, SQL, and basic Java. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a support-driven environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams and external vendors to meet SLA commitments and ensure system stability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provides all facets of support concerning Configuration Items in the IT library - incident resolution, minor work enhancements, permanent fixes and tools development.
  • Maintains and updates workarounds and proactive management of Configuration Items in knowledge database.
  • Provides resolutions within a timely manner and informs the Support Leads or Incident Manager regarding potential breaches of the SLA.
  • Coordinates the activities of several groups investigating the incident, as needed.
  • Provide consultation determining proper escalation matrices, issues and changes within the process
  • Executes and monitors Ad Hoc requests
  • Performs proactive support services which may result in early detection of incidents
  • Customer and User service oriented.
  • Effective time and work management.
  • May participate in projects and take on roles such as Designer, Tester and Implementer
  • Coordinates with external vendors to address application issues
  • Communicate with external and internal customers onshore via email, IM or conference calls on a daily basis.
  • Take on functional tasks and possibly oversee a functional area
  • May take on other adhoc tasks as needed by the team and instructed by the manager

Required Qualifications

  • Perl
  • PostgreSQL
  • Must be highly technical, analytical and detail oriented.
  • Must be able to work both independently and as a team player as needed by the task
  • Must be proactive and take initiative on handling tasks
  • Creative thinker in terms of diagnosing and troubleshooting problems, identifying and developing methods to automate/improve new/existing procedures
  • Excellent oral and written English communication skills. Ability to communicate clearly on technical matters with non-technical people.
  • Willing to work on production support
  • Availability and willingness to work on a 24x7 shift assignment (including weekends, holidays)
  • Work experience in a support-oriented environment and willing to do support work/tasks
  • Adapts to changing workload and assignments depending on the demand

Nice to Have

  • Knowledge in DB2
  • Knowledge in Datastage
  • Knowledge in Java such as J2EE, Spring/Hibernate
  • Knowledge in eclipse/netbeans
  • Technical Documentation (Flow chart/DFD/Component Diagrams)
  • Knowledgeable in Service Now, ESP/Stonebranch, GitHub

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Php30, Php40,000.00 per month
