Position Overview
The Plant Director is responsible for overseeing the overall operations, performance, and strategic direction of the manufacturing plant. This role ensures production goals are achieved safely, efficiently, and in line with quality standards, cost targets, and company objectives. The Plant Director provides leadership across production, maintenance, quality, supply chain, and continuous improvement functions.
Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership
- Develop and implement plant strategies aligned with corporate goals and business objectives.
- Drive operational excellence, productivity, and profitability across all plant functions.
- Lead, motivate, and develop plant leadership teams to ensure high performance and employee engagement.
Operations Management
- Oversee daily plant operations, including production planning, scheduling, and output.
- Ensure adherence to quality, safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
- Optimize plant performance through continuous improvement initiatives
Financial & Budgetary Control
- Prepare and manage the plant's operating budget, forecasts, and capital expenditure plans.
- Analyze financial data to identify variances and implement corrective actions.
- Drive cost-reduction initiatives without compromising quality or safety.
Safety, Quality & Compliance
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
- Oversee quality assurance processes to meet customer and industry standards (

Talent Management & Development
- Build a strong leadership pipeline within the plant.
- Conduct performance evaluations, training, and career development plans for key personnel.
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Supply Chain & Customer Focus
- Collaborate with procurement, logistics, and supply chain teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and finished products.
- Work closely with customers, sales, and R&D teams to address product or production challenges.
- Support new product introductions and process scale-up activities.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Management, Operations Management, or related field.
- Master's degree (MBA or related) preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in manufacturing operations, with at least 5 years in a senior management role.
- Proven track record in plant management, production leadership, and operational excellence.
- Experience in manufacturing (furniture), FMCG is an advantage
