A Commis I assists with food preparation and ensures that the kitchen operates efficiently and that high standards of food quality and hygiene are maintained.

Food Preparation

• Assisting in Preparation: Help in preparing ingredients by washing, peeling, chopping, and cutting vegetables, fruits, and meats.
• Cooking Assistance: Assist higher-ranking chefs (such as Commis I, Chef de Partie, Sous Chef) in cooking and preparing dishes according to recipes and standards.
• Basic Cooking Tasks: Perform simple cooking tasks such as frying, grilling, and boiling under supervision.

Kitchen Maintenance

• Cleaning and Sanitizing: Ensure that the kitchen and all its equipment are clean and sanitized. This includes washing dishes, utensils, and work surfaces.
• Stock Management: Assist in the management of kitchen inventory, including checking stock levels, and storing supplies properly.
• Waste Management: Dispose of waste appropriately and follow recycling protocols.

Supportive Duties

• Assisting Senior Chefs: Provide support to senior chefs in a variety of tasks to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
• Learning and Development: Continuously develop culinary skills by learning from senior chefs and participating in training sessions.
• Adhering to Health and Safety Standards: Follow all health and safety regulations and ensure all food is prepared and stored in a hygienic manner.

Additional Responsibilities

• Event Preparation: Assist in the preparation and execution of special events or functions held at the golf club.
• Customer Interaction: Occasionally, you might interact with members and guests, especially if working in a live kitchen Island station or during special events.

Professional Conduct

• Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff to maintain a positive and efficient working environment.
• Time Management: Manage time effectively to ensure that tasks are completed promptly and service runs smoothly.
