Job Purpose
Delivers safe, evidence-informed facial and skin-care services that enhance skin health and patient experience. Operates facial devices and performs procedures within training, certification, and MVSMC/DOH policy, maintains strict hygiene, educates clients on home care, and supports the Dermatology team in achieving quality, safety, and revenue goals.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct non-diagnostic intake: verify identity, obtain service history, allergies, sensitivities, and contraindications; escalate red flags to the Dermatologist/Nurse.
- Perform facial therapies per SOP and competency: cleansing, exfoliation, steaming, comedone management/extractions (if permitted), masks, high-frequency, ultrasonic spatula, microcurrent, LED therapy, oxygen infusion, microdermabrasion, and mild peels only if trained and authorized.
- Personalize protocols by skin type/condition (e.g., oily/acne-prone, sensitive, mature), using tools such as the Fitzpatrick scale and acne grading (for service planning; not diagnosis).
- Deliver post-care: soothe, apply sun protection, and provide recovery guidance and home-care regimen.
- Adhere to hand hygiene, PPE, instrument reprocessing/sterilization, and treatment-room turnover between clients.
- Perform patch testing when required; strictly follow chemical handling and waste segregation.
- Identify contraindications (active infections, open wounds, severe acne nodulocystica, recent procedures, pregnancy precautions, isotretinoin use) and defer/decline service with proper escalation.
- Operate and maintain facial devices; run safety checks, cleaning/disinfection logs, and basic troubleshooting; escalate to Biomedical/Facilities when needed.
- Prepare professional skincare products, correctly mix/neutralize solutions, and track inventory, batch/lot numbers, and expiries.
- Complete service forms/EHR notes, consent forms, pre-/post-photos (if policy allows), and adverse event reports.
- Coordinate schedules with Front Desk/Billing; align plans with Dermatologist/Nurse; support package tracking and follow-ups.
- Educate clients on realistic outcomes, skincare routines, and sun protection; set expectations and obtain informed consent.
- Manage feedback and minor complaints; initiate service recovery and escalate concerns promptly.
- Achieve ethical retail attachment and rebooking targets; contribute to promotions.
- Participate in audits, drills, and quality improvement projects; suggest protocol enhancements.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Senior High School graduate or Vocational/Technical graduate.
- TESDA Beauty Care (NC II/III) or equivalent skincare/aesthetics certification; vendor/device certifications (e.g., microdermabrasion, LED, RF/microcurrent as applicable) are preferred.
- At least 6–12 months of spa/clinic-based facial therapy experience is preferred; fresh grads with strong training may be considered.
- Basic computer literacy (EHR, scheduling, inventory).
- First Aid/BLS; customer-service training.
