QA Microbiologist

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Prepares dilution blanks, culture media, sterilized micro-testing apparatus, and other related needs of the microbiological laboratory.

Accurately performs the prescribed microbial test for raw materials, semi-finished bulk samples, process, and drinking water, in-process materials, food contact surfaces, and finished products requiring microbiological control.

Monitors environmental qualification of different production areas and sanitation checks on equipment and personnel to validate conformance to hygiene requirements and implementation of SSOP.

Conducts sampling and microbial water testing for NAC potable water stations.

Reports microbiological non-conformance results, determines causes and recommends corrective actions.

Ensures that hygiene requirement and good housekeeping of the microbiology laboratory is maintained regularly.

Conducts and ensures regular cleaning and maintenance of apparatus, equipment, glassware, and related tools to ensure safe and efficient operation in the microbiology laboratory.

Endorses disposition on Microbiological Issues to QA Chemist, QA Analyst, QA Supervisor, or Manager and ensures that this is given to the concerned section/department.

Authorized to stop operations of processing lines in cases of obvious microbiological violations and Food Safety issues.

Maintains a neat and legibly written analysis record, following rules on correcting errors.

Ensures cleanliness and orderliness in the laboratory, and monitors implementation of Good Laboratory Practices and 5S.

QUALIFICATION AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor of Science in Microbiology

With at least 2 years of working experience in the same capacity

Technical know-how in microbiological analysis and/or manufacturing processes

Familiar with chemical laboratory setup

Proficient in verbal and written communication
