Job Role: Instrument Engineer

Contract duration: 1 year

Work Set Up: Remote

Responsibilities:
  1. Familiar with instrumentation specifications and requirements of the assigned project, including Industry Standard, Classification Society, and Regulatory requirements.
  2. Independently develop engineering specifications such as instrument data sheets, specifications, and drawings specific to the assigned project.
  3. Evaluate all bids received for instrumentation & control packages from various suppliers, perform technical bid evaluations, participate in cost optimization, and ensure vendors meet technical, engineering, and delivery requirements as per project specifications.
  4. Conduct kick-off meetings with selected vendors to clarify issues and finalize the project scope, and ensure timely provision of accurate documents and specifications to enable successful execution.
  5. Evaluate instrumentation & control requirements for mechanical packages in Marine & Topside, contribute to bid evaluations, and ensure vendor compliance with project standards.
  6. Develop solutions to technical and engineering problems by analyzing issues, interpreting data, and evaluating options using experience and references.
  7. Review sub-engineering contractor documents and drawings for compliance with project specifications.
  8. Visit suppliers, verify function tests of instrumentation & control items, and work with suppliers to rectify technical issues and ensure readiness.
  9. Participate in meetings, review progress, address interface and implementation issues, and escalate as needed to ensure project timelines are met.
  10. Provide technical support during construction and commissioning, troubleshoot issues, and follow up to resolve gaps or problems.
  11. Capture lessons learned and close out project-related lessons learned in the functional area.
Requirements:
  1. Degree in Instrumentation & Control, Electronics, or related field.
  2. Minimum 5 years of detailed I&C engineering experience in oil and gas projects.
  3. Experience in offshore/FPSO project detailed engineering is essential.
  4. AVEVA Instrumentation experience is preferred.
  5. Strong knowledge of project engineering execution and industry standards.
  6. Ability to start work on short notice is an advantage.
