Scaffolding Estimator

Primary Role Purpose

The purpose of the scaffold estimator is to calculates the costs, labour, and materials needed for scaffolding projects by analysing project plans, conducting site assessments, and preparing detailed quotes.

Key Accountabilities

• Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates, including materials, labour, and equipment, for scaffolding projects of varying complexity
• Review and interpret construction blueprints, technical drawings, and project specifications to determine scaffolding requirement
• Create and submit detailed quotes and contract documents, maintaining organized records of project data
• Liaise with clients, project managers, suppliers, and internal teams to clarify project scopes and provide practical solution
• Visit project sites to conduct measurements and assessments, identify potential hazards, and gather information for accurate estimation
• Identify potential risks and safety hazards in scaffold design and planning, recommending appropriate solution
• Ensure all cost estimates and project plans comply with relevant health and safety regulations and industry standards
• Proficiency in performing calculations and analysing data to ensure accurate material and cost estimations.
• Strong understanding of different scaffolding systems, construction materials, and how they apply to various project designs.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, technical drawings, and specifications

Qualifications

• Proficiency in performing calculations and analysing data to ensure accurate material and cost estimations.
• Strong understanding of different scaffolding systems, construction materials, and how they apply to various project designs.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, technical drawings, and specifications.
• Meticulousness in identifying potential issues, risks, and ensuring the accuracy of estimates.
• Excellent skills to communicate effectively with clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders and to negotiate terms.
• Familiarity with estimating software and potentially Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software for design and layout.
• Ability to creatively resolve challenges and issues that arise during the estimation process.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadline
• Industry experience in scaffolding (essential) at least 3 years and above
• Certificate IV in Building Project Support (Estimator) or a similar diploma in estimation (highly desirable)
• Can start ASAP once hired
