Position Overview
We are seeking a
Registered Nurse
with strong experience in employee health benefits administration to join our HR team. This role will focus on managing the company's
Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) program
, providing
occupational health services
, and ensuring compliance with DOLE and BPO industry standards for a 150-employee workforce.
The Nurse – Benefits Administration Assistant will work
hand-in-hand with the HR Associate for Compensation & Benefits (morning shift)
to ensure seamless 24-hour coverage for employee health benefit transactions, inquiries, and issue resolution.
Key Responsibilities
1. Benefits Administration (HMO Management)
- Act as the
primary night-shift liaison
between employees and the HMO provider. - Coordinate with the morning-shift
HR Associate for Compensation & Benefits
for continuity in benefits processing. - Process HMO enrollment, deletions, and updates in coordination with HR.
- Address employee concerns regarding HMO coverage, utilization, and claims.
- Track HMO availment, generate utilization reports, and recommend cost optimization strategies.
- Assist in the
annual HMO renewal process
including census validation and coverage negotiations.
2. Occupational Health & Safety (BOSH Compliance)
- Maintain an
Occupational Health Program
in compliance with the DOLE Occupational Safety and Health Standards. - Conduct health risk assessments and maintain
medical records
in compliance with the Data Privacy Act. - Provide
first aid
and emergency medical care for workplace incidents. - Monitor workplace health hazards and recommend preventive measures.
- Assist in
OSH Committee meetings
and documentation requirements.
3. Employee Wellness & Medical Assistance
- Provide health counseling to employees on wellness, disease prevention, and safe work practices.
- Maintain inventory and readiness of first-aid supplies and medical equipment.
- Coordinate medical referrals for employees as needed.
4. Administrative & Reporting
- Prepare
night-shift reports
on health and benefits utilization for turnover to the morning-shift HR Associate. - Support HR in benefits policy updates and compliance documentation.
- Maintain confidentiality and accuracy of employee health records.
Qualifications
Education & Licenses
- Registered Nurse (RN)
in the Philippines (required) - BOSH Certification
(DOLE-accredited) for Occupational Health Nurse (required) - First Aid and Basic Life Support (BLS)
Certification from Philippine Red Cross or equivalent (required) - Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
certification (preferred) - Other relevant certifications such as
Occupational Health Nursing Course
or
Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
training (advantageous)
Experience
- At least
2 years of nursing experience
, with at least
1 year in a corporate/BPO environment
preferred. - Experience in
HMO or benefits administration
is an advantage.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of
Philippine Occupational Safety and Health Standards
. - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for employee engagement.
- High attention to detail and organizational skills for benefits processing.
- Ability to work independently during
night shift operations
while ensuring
effective turnover
to the morning-shift counterpart.
Working Conditions
- On-site
night shift work schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM. - Occasional overtime or weekend work may be required for special projects or emergency health situations.
