Engineering


• Oversees multidisciplinary efforts and change control in design, specification, installation, and validation of equipment/system modifications.


• Provides engineering technical support for the building and equipment systems and its utilities (including electrical).


• Equipment systems supported are not limited to furnace, large capacity AC/DC motors, transformers, electrical control panels, hydraulics, dryers, compressors, overhead cranes, etc.


• Directs investigations into equipment failures and implements changes to avoid future occurrences.


• Manage, coordinate and control all aspects of engineering in order to meet agreed production objectives.


• Identify and recommend areas for engineering and equipment improvement.


• Prepare and monitor metrics, continue improvement projects and efforts.

Rolling Mill Plant Maintenance


• Prepare and manage the plant/equipment maintenance strategy on a day-to-day basis, including routine, special and shutdown periods for maintenance.


• Resolve all technical maintenance issues


• Provides supervision and direction to plant engineering staff with focus on execution and prioritization of daily activities, monitoring performance against goals, career development, and staff recruitment to support plant engineering activities.


• Design appropriate plant maintenance programs to reduce downtime.

Regulatory Compliance


• Ensures up-to-date compliance to regulatory laws and requirements


• Coordinates and maintains relationship with all regulatory and government agencies.

Safety Standards


• Develops and implements procedures and practices to meet safety, regulatory, and financial requirements and maintain compliance.

· Maintain an efficient and safe working environment for all employees.

What we're looking for:


• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field of study; with a thorough understanding of mechanical systems and working knowledge of electrical systems.


• Minimum 8 years of engineering and maintenance management experience in a steel rolling mill operation.


• Ability to provide expertise, advice, and guidance around the operation and enhancements of equipment, assets and systems.


• High level of expertise in plant engineering methods, theory, and principles from a design, construction, and compliance perspective.


• People management experience with skills leading, developing, and training a technically diverse team.


• Practical knowledge and application of GMP and OSHC regulations and experience with regulatory investigations.


• Excellent oral and written communication skills.


• Knowledge of PLC (programmable logic controller) and automation is a plus.
