The purpose of the Technical Machine Operator is to Operate, Maintain, Improve, and Repair equipment. He will support the delivery of operational Key Performance Indicators (SQSCP – Safety, Quality, Service, Cost, and People).

He will be required to champion specific skills, create standards, train, and coach other machine operators.

Work closely with Production Operators, the Technical Machine Operators must contribute to company goals through the accomplishment of production tasks, and delivery of high-quality finished goods.

Scope of Responsibilities shall include but are not limited to:

• Technical - Knowledge and application of technical skills to Operate, Maintain, Improve, and Repair (OMIR) equipment. This allows production targets to be met safely, at the right level of quality, and on time based on the prepared daily production schedule by the Production Officers.
• Understand the principles of mechanism and motion and be able to conduct changeovers, basic repairs, and adjustments. Utilize appropriate lubrication regimes.
• Understanding of principles and application of pneumatics; able to conduct fault finding and basic repair.
• Safety - Utilize appropriate safety and environmental procedures for people, processes, materials, products, and equipment to ensure a safe working environment for the whole team.
• Environment - Reduce costs due to waste and minimize the impact on health, safety, and the environment by working to eliminate waste and through the correct management of waste and hazardous materials.
• Quality – Conduct required in-line quality checks and ensures that all aspects of Quality within the area of responsibility are in accordance with Production and Quality procedures and standards to protect and promote the brand and product.
• Create and/ or update machine operation procedures.
• Leadership - Promote the development of a highly effective machine operator team through strong communication, leading by example, and conflict management, whilst keeping focused on goals and targets.
• Coaching – Champion specific skills within the autonomous team and coach them to others to drive excellence.
• Continuous Improvement - Use performance measures to identify and prioritize losses in the production area. Apply rigorous Cost Deployment and the Zero loss concept to eliminate losses.
• Production Output - Production plan targets and review performance to drive functional goals at individual and team levels.
• Business Awareness - Understanding of the need to meet changing demands and the role of marketing and product innovation in growing the business and increasing the company's share.
• Ensure proper, timely, and comprehensive turnover, endorsement, and handover of all production matters between shifts. As a last recourse, must not leave the station until after proper turnover with the assigned production lead for the area.
• Serve as a role model for production competency, GMP, CCP, oPRP/ PRP, FSSC & ISO 22000 standards, and food safety discipline.
• Report any quality and food safety deviation and incidents of standards and company rules' violations to the immediate superior and QA/ QC; prepare Process Deviation Report (PDR) and Incident Disposition Report (IDR) as necessary.
• Prepare PDRs and IDRs (or other assigned names) for incidents that occur inside the assigned area or section and inform all concerned employees and/ or sections.
• Resolve IDRs soonest possible.
• Monitors the status of the incident and ensures that the affected product is stored properly in accordance with the set standards or instructions from TSD or immediate superior.
• Report untoward behavior of personnel, and production operation problems (before, during, and after operation); participate in all investigations as directed by HR/ LR.
• Prepare timely production reports, quality data, and FSSC-required data and information as required and directed.
• Lead in maintaining an organized, clean, orderly, and safe working environment by complying with company procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Develop and maintain effective relations with all company employees at various levels of the organization, including those from service provider/s.
• Get actively involved in projects and activities that aim to achieve departmental goals and improve production operations.
• As appointed, perform duties and responsibilities attached to his/her role in Food Safety System Certification (FSSC).
• Serve as a role model for behaviors related to Marigold Way core ideology, mission, core values, principles, and practices.
• Perform other duties as may be required for the continuity and effectiveness of production operations.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: Secondary Education or College Level/ Graduate
• Experience: 2 - 5 years relevant experience in manufacturing environment is required. Preferably with experience in operating cooking, process, bottling, foil laminate (vertical or horizontal) bag/filling machines.
• Knowledge in MS Office.
• Training/Seminar required: GMP, HACCP or FSSC related training/seminar, Lean Manufacturing, Problem-solving
• Aptitude for math, problem-solving, computers and mechanics
• Attention to detail
• Ability to work and communicate well with others
• Proficiency with hand tools
• Willing to perform repetitive tasks for extended periods
• Have a technician background is an advantage
• Can do nighttime work and weekly changing work shifts.
